Eligible marine courses for different Qualifications : 


10th STANDARD PASS | 12TH STANDARD PASS | FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS | FOR GRADUATE ENGINEERS(MECHANICAL & NAVAL ARCH)|

FOR GRADUATE ENGINEERS(ELECTRICAL&ELECTRONICS)|NAVAL DOCKYARD APPRENTICE OR APPROVED INDIAN NAVAL OR COAST

GUARD SERVICE | FOR B.Sc GRADUATES | FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS COMPLETED FIRST YEAR 

 

If you have not crossed 20 years of age and have cleared 10th standard from a recognized board with science, Maths and English as subjects then you have the following courses to opt for.

                                                      1.    6 Months Pre-Sea course for General purpose rating.

On successful completion of this Pre - Sea training, the candidates will be able to join as a RATING in Indian & Foreign shipping companies as a Deck Crew or Engine Crew. The G.P.Rating candidate will be able to work in all seamanship activities on-board at deck side and other work at Engine side. With further Sea-service, they will be promoted as DECK SERANG, BOSUN, Able-Bodied Seamen / Engine Fitter etc., They can also be promoted to officer Level with certain service and qualification requirements. 

After completing this Pre-Sea Training, exams will be conducted by Board of examination for sea farers (BES) & successful candidates are eligible to obtain Continuous Discharge Certificate (INDIAN CDC) from the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.

There are wide job opportunities for our Indian Seamen all over the world.

                                                      2.    4 – month Pre-sea course for Saloon ratings.

This course is of 6 months duration. On successful completion of this pre-sea training courses enables the candidates to acquire Indian C.D.C. and to work as saloon rating on board merchant ships in the catering department.

                                                      3.    Navigational Watch-Keeping officer (NCV).

This stream explains you the procedure to become a Watch keeping officer on ships plying near costal voyages. With relevant experience and also upon completing the courses and examination required by DG shipping you may join Foreign-going ships.  CLICK HERE TO CHECK THE FLOWCHART

                                                     4.    Rating Forming part of a navigational watch.

Every rating forming part of a navigational watch on a seagoing ship of 500 gross tonnage or more shall be required to demonstrate the competence to perform navigational function at the support level, as specified in column 1 of table A-II/4.The minimum knowledge, understanding and proficiency required of ratings forming part of a navigational watch on a seagoing ship of 500 gross tonnage or more is listed in column 2 of table A-II/4.Every candidate for certification shall be required to provide evidence of having achieved the required standard of competence in accordance with the methods for demonstrating competence and the criteria for evaluating competence specified in columns 3 and 4 of table A-II/4. The reference to “practical test" in column 3 may include approved shore-based training in which the students undergo practical testing. Where there are no tables of competence for the support level in respect to certain functions, it remains the responsibility of the Administration to determine the appropriate training, assessment and certification requirements to be applied to personnel designated to perform those functions at the support level.CLICK HERE TO CHECK THE FLOWCHART

                                                     5.    Rating forming part of an Engine room watch.

This flow diagram has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW section III/4. Course is open to mariners and 10th passed school student who wish to obtain an appropriate certificate in order to perform duties as an engine rating forming part of a watch in a manned engine-room.
